Frustrated by the fleeting significance of legal briefs, Irvine litigator Mark S. Adams sought solace in a childhood hobby.

As a young lawyer, Adams realized the life cycle of a brief is predetermined.

“You spend a lot of your creative energy writing a brief, and the judge reads it, the other side reads it, and then it goes in the trashcan [or] into a file,” he said.
