In multi-defendant criminal cases, district attorneys customarily require all defendants to accept their plea negotiated offers to resolve their cases by way of a plea bargain. This is generally dubbed the "package deal" condition to plea bargaining in a multi-defendant case. Where one or more defendant in a multi-defendant case decline an offer to resolve their case, then customarily no defendant is permitted to accept their plea negotiated offer.
