Cosby’s insurer must pay to defend civil lawsuits, court rules

An appellate court ruled Thursday that insurer AIG Property Casualty Co. must pay to defend comedian Bill Cosby in civil lawsuits related to sexual assault allegations.

AIG Property Casualty Co. must pay to defend comedian Bill Cosby in civil lawsuits related to sexual assault allegations, an appeals court ruled.

The 3-0 decision by the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirms a Massachusetts federal judge's 2016 decision that AIG has a duty to defend Cosby in defamation lawsuits filed by women who say he sexually assaulted them, then lied about them.
