San Mateo County has sued a suite of drug distributors alleging culpability for the opioid epidemic ravaging its communities.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, alleged the industry uses deceptive marketing and distribution tactics that have led to inflated medical care, law enforcement and infrastructure repair costs, among other damages, due to the excess of opioids in the county.
