Judge blocks Avenatti’s firm from fees in 54 cases
A bankruptcy judge has blocked Michael J. Avenatti’s firm from spending any attorney fees recouped from 54 cases until it repays more than $10 million in debt and taxes.

The order from U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Catherine E. Bauer in Santa Ana, issued late Wednesday, grants a restraining order request by Sara L. Chenetz of Perkins Coie LLP on behalf of Avenatti's former law partner Jason M. Frank.
