Google’s general counsel post remains vacant after promotion

As senior vice president of global affairs, Kent Walker will oversee Google’s policy, legal, trust and safety and corporate philanthropy teams.

Google LLC confirmed Monday its general counsel Kent Walker has been promoted to senior vice president of global affairs, leaving the technology giant’s general counsel role vacant.

When reached for comment, the Google officials referred all information to a July 30 CNBC.com story reporting on Walker’s new role when the company first broke the news to employees.
