Senate committee advances Trump nominee to 9th Circuit
Legislators split along party lines to advance Idaho attorney Ryan Nelson for a full Senate vote.
Ryan D. Nelson, a former general counsel with an Idaho company, was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee for a seat on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The full Senate must now approve the nomination.
The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted along party lines to advance one of President Donald Trump’s nominees to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
On Thursday, members of the committee voted 11-10 to send Ryan D. Nelson’s name to the full Senate for a confirmation vote.
