LOS ANGELES -- After a primary with a crowd of prosecutors vying for 11 judicial seats on the Los Angeles County court, four hard-fought races will be decided next month.

Five out of eight candidates are prosecutors, while the remaining contenders include an arbitrator, a commissioner, and a public defender hoping to ride a wave of changing public opinions about the criminal justice system.
