Santa Ana federal judge rules law firm’s fight with hedge fund should be in NY

A federal judge in Califoria has rejected an Orange County law firm’s bid to halt a hedge fund from pursuing a negligence lawsuit against it in New York.

SANTA ANA -- A federal judge has rejected an Orange County law firm's bid to halt a hedge fund from pursuing a $7.5 million negligence lawsuit against it in New York.

Judge David O. Carter of the Central District said at a hearing this week he's concerned that granting Bienert, Miller & Katzman PLC's request "would promote a type of gamesmanship."
