LOS ANGELES -- More than 80 people packed a courtroom on Wednesday to watch closing arguments in a negligence jury trial in which residents of a mobile home park on a landfill allege property owners allowed homes to sink, while the defense said the occupants knew the conditions when they moved in and objected only when rents were raised.
