Malaysian theme park hopefuls sue Fox, Disney over dead project

Plaintiff Genting Malaysia Berhad is asking for $1.75 billion from The Walt Disney Company, Fox Entertainment Group LLC and several other Fox affiliates in a federal complaint filed in the Central District of California.

Developers hoped a Fox-branded Southeast Asian theme park within a luxury casino resort not far from Kuala Lumpur would draw in millions of visitors and billions in revenue. Now, they say the project's likely doomed following interference from Disney in a lawsuit filed Monday.
