The Trump administration appealed a judgment from last week stopping a new policy that would stymie asylum requests between border posts.
U.S. Department of Justice lawyers also filed a stay request Tuesday that would stop the temporary restraining order granted by U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar of San Francisco from going into effect while the appeal advanced at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
