46th Securities Regulation Institute kicks off at the end of a rocky month for the SEC
For the second consecutive year, the conference’s keynote address was derailed by a federal government shutdown. SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce could not appear as scheduled, despite a deal to reopen the government reached on Friday.
CORONADO — A securities law conference that usually draws top practitioners from across the nation has for a second year been disrupted by a government shutdown.
The 46th Annual Securities Regulation Institute will go ahead as planned starting today but without its keynote speaker. SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce was forced to cancel, despite a deal reached Friday to reopen the federal government.
