Budget deal would increase the number of immigration judges

Immigration judges will see their numbers boosted under a budget deal agreed to by Democrats and Republicans in Congress.

Immigration judges will see their numbers boosted under a budget deal agreed to by Democrats and Republicans in Congress.

The agreement includes $563.4 million to hire immigration judges and related staff, including translators. This would boost the total number of these judges from 395 to 484, according to figures from the National Association of Immigration Judges.
