Judicate West mediator Andrew S. Albert, former president of the San Diego County Bar Association who died of cancer at 68, was instrumental in settling a case that led to a law to protect disabled children.

"Andy was probably one of the most popular figures in the San Diego legal community," Judicate West President Alan Brutman said Thursday. "You don't get to be president of the bar without having some fans."
