Founding dean of UC Irvine School of Law donates personal papers
Erwin Chemerinsky, the founding dean of UC Irvine School of Law, has donated his personal and professional papers to the university's libraries. His records, which consist of professional, scholarly and personal materials documenting his life and career, will be available for academic research.
Despite his persistent assumption that the papers documenting his career as a litigator and legal scholar would be of little use to anyone, UC Berkeley School of Law dean Erwin Chemerinsky has agreed to donate his collection to the UC Irvine libraries.
The longtime First Amendment scholar, and author of numerous books, founded the UC Irvine School of Law in September 2007, and helped design and establish its curriculum.
