The State Bar will distribute a record $79.1 million in legal services funding to 100 nonprofits in 2020, the agency announced Friday.
Gov. Gavin Newsom secured another $20 million for legal aid in the state budget to fund even more legal services next year, and the bar has successfully worked to increase the monies generated from interest on lawyers’ trust accounts.
