Recruiting the right law student for your externship opportunity

Regardless of the approach, it is important for the schools and the interested students to have a clear understanding of what you are looking for in an extern.

Schools have varied approaches when students apply to externships. Some submit candidates for your review; other schools may leave it up to students to apply directly. Some ask that you post opportunities on internal career boards; some circulate opportunities to specific students or student groups. Regardless of the approach, it is important for the schools and the interested students to have a clear understanding of what you are looking for in an extern.
