A compelling writ petition
In my 35 years as writ attorney for Division 7 of the 2nd District Court of Appeal, I saw a range of writ petitions, from outstanding to abysmal, and I saw my fair share of petitions. I alone was responsible for reviewing all petitions filed in our court, and we received 400 to 500 petitions each year. Some petitions still remain in my memory — both exemplars and disasters.
