Improve lawyer skills instead of lowering admission standards
Here we go again. Three years ago, a few law schools pushed to lower the pass score for the California bar exam. I wrote then that this was a terrible idea because we were already allowing attorneys to practice who were barely competent and who did not well serve the interests of their clients. Instead, I advocated that we needed to improve the skills of all lawyers and not lower the standards of admission to the California Bar.
