The Berkeley Center for Law & Technology recently held a conference on "remote judicial proceedings." "Remote" because the coronavirus pandemic closed the courthouses.
"Remote" means you don't show up in person in court. You show up by phone or on a video conference. This happens at various trial court proceedings, both civil and criminal.
