Alameda and Stanislaus County judge races are decided

In Alameda County, Berkeley-based attorney Elena Condes held a statistically insurmountable lead, as did Deputy District Attorney John R. Mayne in Stanislaus County.

Two northern California judicial races appeared to be decided Friday, according to vote totals indicating statistically insurmountable leads for the winners.

In Alameda County, Berkeley-based criminal defense and civil attorney Elena Condes led Mark P. Fickes by 56.2% to 43.4%, with 0.4% going to write-in candidates. Both candidates are openly gay.
