US judge reverses Trump limitations on H-1B visas

In his order, U.S. District Judge Jeffrey S. White granted a motion for summary judgment filed by a coalition of business groups and universities, who sued the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Department of Homeland Security to enjoin them from enforcing H-1B rules they introduced in October.

Sectors employing H-1B workers were not hit hard enough by the COVID-19 pandemic for federal agencies to suddenly restrict eligibility for the visa without consulting the public first, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.
