UC Irvine law clinics to help LA DA review police shootings

In a letter to law enforcement members on Monday, Gascón announced he would convene a Use of Force Review Board composed of policing experts, civil rights attorneys and community members, supported by the two clinics.

Two UC Irvine School of Law clinics will help new Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón review four officer-involved shootings against unarmed civilians dating back to 2012.

Gascón said on the campaign trail that he would reopen the cases to determine whether criminal charges are warranted against the officers.
