Attorney for LA special needs kids files writ with state high court

Milbank LLP partner Alex Romain said he went directly to the state high court because the issues presented in the case are of great public importance, have broad impacts and need to be resolved quickly.

A petition for writ of mandate on behalf of special needs students affected by remote learning was filed Friday to the state Supreme Court claiming the Los Angeles Unified School District has not been complying with a legislative mandate to provide in-person instruction whenever possible amid the pandemic.
