Pillsbury client says rival stole data to copy aneurysm treatment

The lawsuit was filed Tuesday against Irvine-based Balt USA LLC by plaintiffs' counsel at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Microvention, based in Aliso Viejo, specializes in manufacturing and developing platinum microcoil implants and detachment technology that delivers implants to treat brain aneurysms.

Microvention Inc. sued a rival company claiming its former employees stole confidential data to launch a copycat device used to treat brain aneurysms.
