Motion says dismissed LA water case counsel should lose $1.65M in fees
San Fernando Valley personal injury attorney Michael J. Libman was liaison counsel to the ratepayers class in its suit against the city after the water department rolled out a disastrous billing system in 2013 which led to hundreds of thousands of overbilled ratepayers.




Removed class counsel in the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power overbilling litigation should be held in contempt, sanctioned $116,000 and ordered to pay back $1.65 million in attorney fees, according to motions filed by the new class counsel in charge of investigating a likely fraudulent $67 settlement reached without discovery.
