DA, state AG appeal disqualification of prosecutor’s office

On Dec.11, 2020, San Luis Obispo County Superior Court Judge Matthew G.Guerrero disqualified DA Dan Dow’s office from a felony and a misdemeanor case, saying the prosecutor had a “clear conflict” of interest due to his public opposition to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Attorney General Xavier Becerra and San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow are appealing a judge's disqualification of Dow's office from prosecuting a group of Black Lives Matter protesters accused of committing crimes last summer.
