Justice Liu: A leader who models the best values in our profession

If Gov. Gavin Newsom appoints Justice Liu as our state’s top lawyer, the California Department of Justice will have a leader who mentors, inspires, and gives generously to those around him. As we know too well, character counts in our leaders.

In recent weeks, a groundswell of support has been building behind California Supreme Court Justice Goodwin Liu to succeed Attorney General Xavier Becerra once Becerra is confirmed as secretary of Health and Human Services. Many respected voices have highlighted Justice Liu’s leadership on racial equity, workers’ rights, access to justice and criminal justice reform. In these and other areas, Justice Liu would be a transformative attorney general.
