State Labor chief tapped for Biden administration post despite critics
If Wednesday's nomination is confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Su would be second in command at the U.S. Department of Labor. Biden nominated Boston Mayor Marty J. Walsh to be secretary of labor in January.
President Joseph Biden nominated California Labor Secretary Julie A. Su to be deputy secretary of labor in his administration Wednesday, even as some continue to fault Su and others in the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency for failing to protect the state's unemployment system from massive fraud.
If Wednesday's nomination is confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Su would be second in command at the U.S. Department of Labor....
