Fund is accused of financing patent lawsuit for personal reason

Elliott Management’s chief executive, Paul Singer, is in a relationship with a colleague whose son, Stephen Backer, holds a senior position at interactive video company Eko, which is suing Quibi for patent infringement.

Elliott Management is financing a patent lawsuit against defunct streaming service Quibi for personal reasons, defense attorneys for the company claimed in court filings.
