Judges can accept donations from employee group donors, ethics panel says

The Committee on Judicial Ethics Opinions said the key is that there be no solicitation for donations at any stage.

Judges can accept campaign contributions from committees that accept donations from court employees, according to an ethics opinion issued Tuesday by the California Supreme Court's Committee on Judicial Ethics Opinions.
