Ex-San Jose State sports official's lawsuit says firing was retaliation

The suit claims O'Brien was ordered to discipline a swimming coach at the college, Sage Hopkins, after he compiled a 300-page dossier concerning sexual misconduct by Scott Shaw, who at the time was the head athletic trainer.

A former deputy athletics director at San Jose State University filed a whistleblower complaint against California State University claiming he was fired after he was ordered to discipline a coach who compiled evidence against a trainer for sexual abuse.
