Uber and Lyft to share sex assault information
Thursday’s move follows a series of lawsuits passengers filed against Uber and Lyft in recent years, in which the passengers alleged the companies failed to take adequate steps to prevent or address complaints of sexual assault.




To stop gig drivers from finding work on new platforms once their accounts have been deactivated for engaging in sexual or physical assault, Uber and Lyft have partnered with a background screening company to collect and share information about these drivers with each other, the companies announced Thursday.
