San Diego DA charges 3 in mass unemployment fraud cases

A recent audit found the statewide fraud has cost taxpayers more than $11 billion since the emergency pandemic payments were introduced last year.

San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan has charged three people with bilking more than $1.3 million in illegal unemployment benefits from the state under the names of dozens of prison inmates.
