LA city attorney asks delay in releasing report into water bill lawsuit

An Ohio attorney involved in the case said in a writ petition to the 2nd District Court of Appeal that Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Elihu M. Berle never had the authority to appoint a special master to investigate the settlement in the first place.

Lawyers including some at the Los Angeles city attorney's office objected to the release or requested the delay of a potentially damning report into alleged collusion involving special counsel for the city, a sham lawsuit and a fraudulent settlement.
