LA County asks 9th Circuit for stay of homelessness injunction

“The preliminary injunction here goes beyond judicial activism. It assumes supervision and administration of hundreds of millions of dollars for homeless services. In essence, it seeks to put the district court in control of homeless policy in Los Angeles County,” Mira Hashmall of Miller Barondess LLP wrote.

Los Angeles County asked a federal appeals court on Wednesday to stay a district judge's injunction in a homelessness action, arguing the order would interfere with public services and force the government to divert resources into building interim shelters that would worsen the problem.
