San Diego DA lifting gang injunctions for 340 people
DA Summer Stephan said she considered the public safety threats criminal street gangs pose but decided that the permanent nature of the injunctions and the barriers they create for rehabilitated people to reenter society outweighed the “lightly enforced injunctions.”




In a coordinated effort with the city attorney and law enforcement, San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan is petitioning the superior court to lift every civil gang injunction filed by previous DAs that restrict the activities of nearly 400 people whose names are on the injunction lists.
