US DOJ asks judge to rethink freeing vaccinated ex-lawyer from prison
In a five-page filing late Friday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert D. Rees of the Northern District of California argued former Sonoma County attorney David Lonich should remain in prison to serve the remainder of his 80-month sentence because medical records show he is now fully vaccinated.




Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to reconsider her ruling that granted compassionate release to an ex-real estate lawyer convicted of money laundering and bank fraud, arguing the pandemic no longer constitutes an extraordinary or compelling circumstance in the prison where he's incarcerated.
