DA appears for arraignment in stabbing of elderly Asians

The defendant refused to be transported from jail to court, so the arraignment was postponed. DA Chesa Boudin asked the judge not to grant him release.

San Francisco County District Attorney Chesa Boudin appeared briefly in a courtroom Friday to personally secure the pretrial detention of a man suspected of stabbing two elderly Asian women unprovoked at a bus stop last week.

The arraignment was continued to Monday. The judge said the defendant refused to be transferred from jail to the court.
