Settlement signed to end UC’s use of standard admission tests
Under the terms of the settlement, signed Friday, admissions officers at the university’s nine campuses will no longer see test scores for the college admission exams, even if students submit them.
SAT and ACT scores will no longer factor into a student's admission at the University of California, following a settlement agreement reached with a coalition of students, nonprofit groups and the Compton Unified School District.
They sued the UC system in 2019 alleging standardized testing violated the equal protection clause of the Constitution and civil rights and disability protections under California law.
