Roundup judge toys with nixing $2B deal

U.S. Judge Vince Chhabria of the Northern District of California said it would be awhile until he decides whether to preliminarily OK the $2B proposed deal in Roundup litigation, if settlement plan isn’t withdrawn

U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria seemed reluctant to bless a proposed $2 billion settlement for cases that say the weedkiller Roundup causes cancer, citing litigation risks for those who might be diagnosed with cancer in the future and the chance the U.S. Supreme Court might issue an adverse ruling on federal preemption grounds.
