Circuit panel denies approval of $117.5M Yahoo settlement

Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP, the lead plaintiffs’ counsel, blasted the settlement’s two objectors, but the panel concluded the arguments in the opening briefs are “sufficiently substantial to warrant further consideration by a merits panel.”

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Tuesday denied approval -- for now -- of a $117.5 million settlement from Yahoo Inc. for data breaches, ruling the plaintiffs' bid for summary affirmance needed a more thorough review.
