New workplace COVID rules easier to apply, but still risky

Employers can expect a host of practical challenges, and will need to consider laws beyond Occupational Safety and Health Administration Guidance, including those related to workplace discrimination and privacy, to make sure their compliance plans won’t inspire litigation.

With requirements that are more in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, the latest version of Cal/OSHA’s COVID-19 workplace standards will be much easier for employers to follow than those approved in early June, employment attorneys say.
