Jittery liberals tell Biden to speed up judge nominations

The reason for the letter, and the urgency, is fear — especially about the four vacancies on the 9th Circuit, 3 of which are California seats.

As months pass and judicial vacancies mount, California Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are impatient that no one has been nominated to the federal bench.

In an unusual letter sent last week to President Joe Biden, 38 Democrats -- virtually the entire California House delegation -- urged him to move quickly to fill spots on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and on the state's district courts.
