In February 2020, the House of Representatives passed the Protecting the Right to Organize Act — but it was dead upon arrival in the then-Republican-majority Senate. The House reintroduced the legislation this year and on March 9 passed the bill again. If the act becomes law, it would make game-changing amendments to the National Labor Relations Act impacting both non-union and organized workplaces, as well as the gig economy.
