$262B state budget with much more court funds awaits Newsom’s signature

SB129 and other bills to relieve court backlogs were passed by the Legislature on Monday and would go into immediate effect with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s approval.

Gov. Gavin Newsom was expected to sign by Thursday a $262.6 billion state budget bill and related legislation with big increases in court funding, including $60 million to address backlogs.

SB129 and the other bills were passed by the Legislature on Monday and would go into immediate effect with the governor's signature.
