Most prospective jurors never heard of Avenatti
Hundreds of jurors said they know nothing of Michael J. Avenatti or his criminal charges, except for a vague recollection of his brief representation of pornographic movie actress Stormy Daniels in her civil case against President Donald Trump, but largely agreed he should be held to a higher standard than the average defendant.




Most prospective jurors questioned Thursday for a fraud case against Michael J. Avenatti said they had never heard of the disgraced lawyer or only vaguely remember his brief star turn as President Donald Trump's nemesis on cable TV news and Twitter.
Even fewer knew that Avenatti was sentenced in New York last week to 30 months in federal prison for trying to extort $20 million from Nike Inc. That is perhaps the good news for Avenatti...
