Fired official alleges sexual harassment by state controller
“This lawsuit is baseless and without merit,” Bill Ainsworth, public information officer for the state treasurer, said in a statement Monday. “We are confident we will prevail in court.”
A former officer at the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee sued State Treasurer Fiona Ma, alleging Ma sexually harassed and wrongfully terminated her. The former executive director, who is Black, also accused Ma of discriminating against her based on race.
