Long-term COVID symptoms may count as disabilities
By reducing ambiguity over whether long COVID qualifies as a disability, Monday's federal guidance could help strengthen afflicted California workers' claims that they are entitled to special accommodations at work, attorneys say.




Long-term COVID-19 symptoms may count as disabilities under federal law, according to guidance published Monday by the U.S. departments of justice and health and human services.
In California, the Fair Employment and Housing Act, which protects people with disabilities from employment and other discrimination, has already been interpreted to cover people suffering from "long COVID."
